Shivwits Band of Paiutes Jurisdictional Clarity Act

This bill gives the State of Utah the authority to handle certain civil court cases involving the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, a tribe in southwestern Utah. It covers civil cases, including contract and lease disputes, that involve the tribe and happen on its tribal lands. The bill also allows the tribe to lease land that is held in trust for them for up to 99 years. This means the tribe and other parties can take contract disagreements to state court to be resolved.
