Agriculture Resilience Act of 2025

This bill creates and changes many Department of Agriculture programs to reduce carbon emissions from farming. The Department of Agriculture must make a plan to have net-zero emissions from farming by 2040 and report on progress each year. The bill expands research, conservation, and livestock programs to include climate change work, such as improving soil health and preserving farmland. It also moves a program that reduces methane from livestock waste from the Environmental Protection Agency to the Department of Agriculture. The bill addresses food waste by standardizing date labels on food and creating grants to reduce food waste in landfills and schools.
