Rural Broadband Assistance Act

This bill officially establishes a grant program run by the Department of Agriculture that helps rural communities expand their access to broadband internet. The grants go to organizations that provide or receive training and technical help on things like finding funding for broadband projects, applying for that funding, and improving existing broadband systems. The bill requires the Department of Agriculture to give priority to applicants that already have experience helping rural organizations with this kind of assistance. It also removes an existing requirement related to maintaining a database of rural broadband projects, certain reporting rules, and oversight of some USDA broadband programs.
