Fairness to Freedom Act of 2025

This bill gives people in immigration court the right to have a lawyer paid for by the government if they cannot afford one. Currently, people can have lawyers in immigration cases, but they have to pay for them themselves. The bill sets up rules for who qualifies for free legal help and creates a new government office called the Office of Immigration Representation to make sure people get lawyers when they need them. This office would work with local boards across the country to provide lawyers through public defender offices, contracts with existing organizations, or panels of attorneys.
