Empowering Nonprofits Act

This bill would lower the amount of money that certain nonprofit organizations have to contribute when they receive federal grants. To qualify, nonprofits must be located in areas where more than 20% of people live below the poverty line. For five years after this bill becomes law, federal agencies would have to reduce cost-sharing requirements by 25% for grants given directly to these eligible nonprofits.
