Border Safety and Security Act of 2025

The Border Safety and Security Act of 2025 requires the Department of Homeland Security to stop non-U.S. nationals without proper entry documents from entering the country if DHS cannot detain them or send them back to a neighboring country like Mexico or Canada. The bill also allows DHS to suspend entry of people without documents if DHS decides it needs to do this to control the border. States can sue DHS if the department doesn't follow these requirements.
