Make Marriage Great Again Act of 2025

This bill changes how married couples are taxed on their income. Currently, married couples who file their taxes together sometimes pay more in taxes than they would if they were single - this is called the marriage penalty. The bill fixes this by making the tax brackets for married couples filing together exactly twice the size of the tax brackets for single people. The bill also removes the option for married couples to file separate tax returns starting in 2025. After this change, married people can either file as individuals or file together with their spouse using the doubled tax brackets.
