LAST ACRE Act of 2025

The LAST ACRE Act of 2025 requires the Department of Agriculture to provide grants and loans for broadband and wireless internet projects on active farmland. To qualify, projects must bring internet service to farm structures and equipment like tractors, irrigation systems, and drones, or help build wireless infrastructure on agricultural land that currently lacks high-speed internet. Internet providers must submit bids to USDA for these projects and show they have worked with the relevant farmers or ranchers. The bill also requires USDA to ask farmers about their internet use in certain surveys and eliminates two existing USDA programs that support broadband projects.
