Modernizing Access to Our Public Oceans Act

This bill requires the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to publish map-based data online about where the public can boat, fish, and do other recreational activities in federal waters, including ocean waters up to 200 miles from the U.S. coast. NOAA must work with state and local governments, tribal groups, and other partners to set standards for sharing this information. Within four years, NOAA must create a public website that shows where fishing restrictions, boating restrictions, and protected areas like National Marine Sanctuaries are located, along with the rules that apply in those areas. The bill also requires NOAA to work with other federal agencies to make sure their data systems work well together.
