Aaron Salter, Jr., Responsible Body Armor Possession Act

This bill would make it illegal for regular citizens to buy, own, or have certain types of strong body armor, including helmets and shields, that meet or go above a specific level of protection set by the National Institute of Justice. Anyone who breaks this law could face a fine, up to five years in prison, or both. However, if someone already legally owned this type of armor before the law took effect, they would still be allowed to keep it.
