SNAP Administrator Retention Act of 2025

This bill changes how the government pays for running the SNAP food assistance program at the state level. Currently, the federal government pays for 50% of state administrative costs, but this bill would make the federal government pay 100% of all personnel costs for SNAP administrators and staff. The bill also requires that state SNAP administrators be paid at least as much as federal employees doing similar work, with annual pay increases that match federal employee raises. States must use this extra federal money to hire additional staff or supplement existing positions, not to replace state funding they're already spending.
