Healthcare Freedom and Choice Act

This bill would cancel a government rule from April 2024 that limits short-term health insurance plans to 3-4 months of coverage. These short-term plans don't have to follow the same rules as regular health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, like covering people with pre-existing conditions. Before this rule, these plans could last up to 12 months initially and be renewed for up to 36 months total. The bill would bring back those longer time limits for short-term health plans.
