Florida Safe Seas Act of 2025

This bill would make it illegal to put food or other substances into federal ocean waters off the coast of Florida to attract sharks, unless the purpose is to catch and harvest sharks. There are two exceptions: shark feeding is allowed for research programs paid for by the federal government, and it is also allowed if it is determined to pose no risk to public health or safety. The waters covered by this bill extend from the edge of Florida's state waters out to about 200 miles from the U.S. coastline.
