VA Mental Health Outreach and Engagement Act

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer a yearly mental health check-in to veterans who receive disability payments for a mental health condition related to their military service. The VA must also reach out to these veterans to let them know about available mental health services, unless a veteran asks not to be contacted. The VA has to report each year for four years on how it conducted its outreach, and a separate government office must study how well the bill is working, including which outreach methods were most effective. The bill also extends certain higher loan fee rates under the VA's home loan program by about 11 months, pushing the end date from June 2034 to May 2035.
