Broadcast VOICES Act

This bill creates tax breaks to help women and people who have faced racial, ethnic, or cultural discrimination become owners and managers of radio stations. If someone sells a radio station in a way that leads to or keeps ownership by these individuals, the seller can choose not to pay taxes on the money gained from the sale. The bill also gives a tax credit to those who donate radio stations for training these individuals in how to run a station. Additionally, it requires the Federal Communications Commission to send Congress a report with ideas on how to increase radio station ownership among these groups.
