Original Honoring Our WWII Merchant Mariners Act of 2025

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to pay $25,000 to U.S. merchant marines who served during World War II. To get this money, a person must apply for it and must not have already received benefits under a 1944 law called the Servicemen's Readjustment Act. The bill explains what kind of service counts, including when the person served and what licenses they needed.
