ESTUARIES Act

This bill extends funding through 2031 for a program that gives grants to protect and restore important estuaries, which are coastal areas where freshwater from rivers meets saltwater from the ocean. The Environmental Protection Agency provides these grants to help create plans for taking care of these water areas and to address problems that threaten their health and economic value. The grants can go to states, agencies, nonprofits, and other organizations working on estuary protection.
