Disaster Relief Medicaid Act

This bill creates a Medicaid program for people affected by major disasters, national emergencies, or public health emergencies declared by the federal government. People who lived or worked in the affected area and meet certain income requirements would get Medicaid coverage for two years after the disaster is declared. The federal government would pay 100% of the costs for this coverage, and states would have to provide the same level of benefits as their regular Medicaid program. The bill also requires an evaluation of how well the program works.
