Bonuses for Cost-Cutters and Fraud Preventers Act of 2026

This bill changes a program that gives awards to federal employees who find ways to save money. Currently, employees can get awards for finding fraud, waste, or mismanagement. The bill expands this to also include finding wasteful operational expenses that agencies don't actually need. When agencies find these wasteful expenses, they must propose to cancel that spending. The bill also doubles the maximum cash award that employees can receive under this program.
