Alaska Native Village Municipal Lands Restoration Act of 2025

This bill changes rules about land ownership for Alaska Native village corporations. Currently, these corporations must give certain lands to their local city government, or if there is no city, to the state of Alaska to hold for any future city that might be created. This bill removes that requirement, so the corporations can keep their lands. The bill also lets corporations take back lands that are already being held by the state by having both the corporation and village residents agree to end the trust arrangement.
