HELP Act

This bill would make it so that drivers hauling livestock — including animals, insects, or aquatic animals — do not have to follow federal rules about how many hours they can drive or work. It would also remove the requirement for their vehicles to have electronic logging devices, which are used to track driving time. The exemption would apply both when the vehicle is carrying livestock and when it is empty after a delivery or on the way to pick up livestock. Current law already has some limited exemptions for livestock haulers, and this bill would expand those exemptions.
