Export Controls Enforcement Act

This bill officially creates a program called the Export Control Officer Program, run by the Department of Commerce. The program places at least 20 officers at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to help make sure that goods and technology being exported follow U.S. rules and don't end up in the wrong hands or wrong places. The program would last five years and be led by a director, and the bill spells out what the officers are supposed to do.
