Securing Global Telecommunications Act

This bill requires the Department of State to create a plan for encouraging other countries to use secure telecommunications systems and share that plan with Congress. It also requires the State Department to report to Congress on how China and Russia may be trying to push their own interests or interfere with fair processes at the United Nations agency that sets global telecommunications rules. Additionally, the report must look at ways the U.S. can work more closely with its allies to promote secure communications technology in other countries.
