STUDENT Act

This bill changes the rules for the National Education Association, a teachers union. It requires the union to get clear permission from government employees before collecting membership dues, and employees must be told they have the right to not join or pay dues. The union must also stop taking dues directly from paychecks and must quickly process requests to cancel membership. The bill also prohibits the union from political activities, requires its officers to be U.S. citizens, bans strikes against government employers, and removes the union's property tax exemption in Washington D.C.
