PRIME Act

This bill changes rules about meat inspection at custom slaughter facilities. Currently, meat from these facilities can only be used for personal, household, guest, or employee purposes without federal inspection. The bill would expand this exemption to allow meat slaughtered at custom facilities to be sold to restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and other businesses within the same state, as long as the facility follows state laws. The bill does not override any existing state laws about custom slaughter facilities or meat sales.
