Ultrasound Informed Consent Act

This bill requires doctors to perform an ultrasound before doing an abortion. The doctor must show the ultrasound images to the woman and explain what they show, including the size of the embryo or fetus and whether there is a heartbeat or visible body parts. The woman does not have to look at the images if she doesn't want to, and she cannot be punished for refusing to look. Doctors who don't follow these rules can face lawsuits and penalties, but the requirements don't apply when the woman's life is in danger.
