Health Care Efficiency Through Flexibility Act

This bill tells the government agency that runs Medicare to push back a rule requiring certain health care groups, called accountable care organizations (ACOs), to use a specific electronic system for reporting quality information until January 1, 2030. It also requires the agency to set up a test program so ACOs can try out other digital ways to report their quality measures, and ACOs in that test program would not have to use the current electronic system. By January 1, 2030, the agency must put standards in place to make sure the electronic health record systems used by these groups work well for different practice sizes, specialties, and locations, and ACOs can keep using their current reporting methods until those standards are ready.
