Supporting Equity for Aquaculture and Seafood Act

This bill tells the Department of Agriculture to give more support to aquaculture, which is the controlled breeding and harvesting of fish, shellfish, and sea vegetables. The department must treat aquaculture producers the same as other animal agriculture producers when giving out grants and assistance. The bill also requires the department to make grants for developing new technology to reduce pollution in the seafood industry, research ways to help shellfish survive better in changing conditions, and create crop insurance policies specifically for aquaculture products.
