Sustaining Our Democracy Act

This bill creates a new fund, lasting through 2035, to give money to states for improving how elections are run. It sets up a new office that would send money to states for things like training poll workers, making it easier for people to vote, and improving how federal elections are managed. To get the money, each state must submit a plan explaining how it will use the funds and must set up a fair process for handling complaints. States are not allowed to use the money for anything that would make it harder for eligible voters to participate in elections.
