Unhoused Voter Opportunity Through Elections Act

This bill makes it easier for homeless people to register to vote and cast ballots. States cannot deny voting rights to citizens who live in nontraditional places like shelters or on the street. If states require proof of residence to vote in federal elections, they must accept a written statement from the person about where they live. The bill requires election officials to reach out to homeless individuals and allows emergency shelters to help people register to vote.
