Veterans 2nd Amendment Restoration Act of 2025

This bill would allow some veterans to buy and own guns even if the Department of Veterans Affairs has decided they need someone else to manage their money or affairs. Currently, federal law prevents people from buying guns if they have been found mentally incompetent, and the VA has been treating veterans who need help managing their benefits as falling into this category. The bill requires the VA to tell the Department of Justice within 30 days that information it has been sending about these veterans since 1993 for background checks was incorrect and should not be used to block gun purchases.
