MORE Act

This bill would remove marijuana from the list of controlled substances under federal law, meaning it would no longer be a federal crime to make, sell, or have marijuana. It would also create a tax on cannabis products, set up a fund to help communities and people affected by past drug enforcement, and make small business loans available to cannabis businesses. The bill would allow people with past federal marijuana convictions to have those convictions erased and would stop the government from denying federal benefits or immigration protections to someone because of marijuana-related activities that would no longer be illegal.
