Protecting Farmers from Natural Disasters Act of 2025

The bill changes rules for a government program that helps protect people and property from floods, droughts, fires, windstorms, and other natural disasters that damage watersheds. Currently, the Department of Agriculture can provide money and technical help to restore damaged areas back to how they were before a disaster. Under this bill, the Department of Agriculture could also restore areas to be better than they were before the disaster if that would be best for the long-term health and protection of the watershed.
