No Tariffs on Groceries Act

This bill would stop the President from putting tariffs on imported food unless Congress approves. It covers food and drinks for people and animals, ingredients used in food and drinks, and farming supplies like seeds, fertilizers, and certain chemicals. To add tariffs on these items, the President would have to ask Congress for permission, and Congress would have to pass a law agreeing to it. Tariffs that are already in place under existing agreements would not be affected by this rule.
