Statutes of Limitation for Child Sexual Abuse Reform Act

This bill would let a federal office give money to states to help them remove time limits on pressing criminal charges or filing lawsuits related to child sexual abuse, and to allow old cases that were previously blocked because too much time had passed to be reopened. These grants would be extra money on top of what states already get through an existing program that helps investigate and prosecute child abuse cases. The bill would also require states that receive money through that existing program to follow recommendations about getting rid of these time limits and allowing old civil cases to move forward.
