Tropical Plant Health Initiative Act

This bill creates a new program within the Department of Agriculture focused on protecting tropical plants like coffee, bananas, mangos, cacao, macadamia, vanilla, and nursery crops from pests and harmful weeds. It allows the government to give out research grants to develop treatments for these plant problems, set up pest management programs, and study the health and biology of tropical plants. The bill also extends funding through 2030 for other Agriculture Department research and specialized activities.
