Federal Firefighter Paycheck Protection Act

This bill would make sure federal firefighters continue to get paid during a government shutdown in fiscal year 2026. It would provide money to pay these firefighters and their benefits if regular government funding runs out. The bill would keep this funding going until either new spending laws are passed or until January 1, 2027, whichever happens first. It also says federal firefighters cannot be laid off during a government shutdown.
