PNA Modernization Act

This bill would increase the minimum monthly personal needs allowance under Medicaid for people living in institutions. For an individual, the allowance would go from $30 to $60 per month, and for a couple it would go from $60 to $120 per month. This personal needs allowance is money that gets subtracted from a person's total income when figuring out how much they have to pay toward their institutional care costs under Medicaid.
