North Rim Restoration Act

This bill lets the National Park Service speed up the process of hiring contractors to fix damage caused by the Dragon Bravo Fire at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. It allows the Park Service to use special emergency hiring rules — without needing the president to officially declare an emergency — for things like restoring forests, rebuilding structures, and carrying out recovery work. This fast-track authority lasts up to seven years or until the recovery work is finished, whichever comes first, and can be extended by 12 months if a new wildfire hits the area. The bill also allows the Park Service to award certain contracts without a competitive bidding process to help rebuild and reopen facilities like lodging and utilities on the North Rim.
