Sarah’s Law

This bill requires federal agencies to hold non-U.S. citizens who are in the country illegally if they have been charged with, arrested for, convicted of, or admit to crimes that killed someone or caused serious injury to another person. The Department of Homeland Security must find out who the victims were and give information about the detained person to victims or their families, including the person's name, birth date, country, immigration status, criminal history, and details about efforts to remove them from the country.
