Shutdown Fairness Act

This bill would pay federal employees who are required to work during government shutdowns. Currently, these workers must wait until the shutdown ends to get paid. The bill would let federal agencies pay these employees their regular wages and benefits while the shutdown is happening. It also covers certain contractors who support federal workers and active-duty military members. The bill would take effect on September 30, 2025.
