_______ Act of 2024

This bill would require the President or Department of Defense to get permission from state governors before ordering National Guard units to train or perform other duties in those states. The bill would also make sure that any ordered training or duty follows the rules of an 1878 law that prevents the military from being used for regular police work. The term "state" in this bill includes Washington D.C. and U.S. territories.
