Non-Essential Workers Transparency Act

This bill requires federal agencies to report to Congress about their employees during government shutdowns. Within 30 days after a shutdown ends, each agency must tell Congress how many total employees they had before the shutdown, how many were furloughed (sent home without pay), how many kept working, and what the annual salary costs are for each group. The Congressional Budget Office must also report on the economic effects of each shutdown within 30 days. All these reports must be posted online by the congressional committees that receive them.
