CLOSE Act

This bill changes rules about air pollution from oil and gas operations. It allows the government to group together pollution from oil and gas wells, pipeline equipment, and pump stations when deciding if they produce enough toxic air pollution to be regulated as major sources. The Environmental Protection Agency must add hydrogen sulfide to its list of dangerous air pollutants and create new rules for oil and gas wells that release this chemical within one year.
