Medical Nutrition Therapy Act of 2025

This bill would expand Medicare coverage for medical nutrition therapy services. Right now, Medicare only covers these services for people with diabetes or kidney disease, and they must be provided by a registered dietitian with a doctor's referral. The bill would extend coverage to people with other conditions like obesity, eating disorders, cancer, and HIV/AIDS. It would also allow physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and clinical psychologists to refer patients for these services.
