Heat Workforce Standards Act of 2025

The proposed rule would have applied to industries like construction, agriculture, and maritime, and would have set specific temperature levels — 80 degrees and 90 degrees Fahrenheit — at which employers would need to take action to protect workers. Right now, OSHA does not have specific rules about heat exposure but has used its general authority to address dangerous heat conditions in workplaces. This bill would block OSHA from finalizing that proposed rule or any rule that is very similar to it.
