ROTOR Act

This bill changes rules about tracking and communication technology used in aircraft. It requires planes to carry equipment called ADS-B In, which lets pilots see the location of other aircraft nearby and receive traffic warnings — something that isn't currently required. The bill also tightens the rules around when government flights can skip using certain tracking equipment, requires regular reviews and audits of those exceptions, and removes a 2018 law that kept the military from being required to use this tracking technology. Additionally, it calls for better coordination between the FAA and military agencies to improve the safety of flights, especially around airports.
