Federal Relocation Payment Improvement Act

This bill would let all federal agencies give employees a single, one-time payment to cover moving costs when they relocate for work, instead of paying them back for each expense after the fact. Right now, only some agencies can do this through a temporary test program, but this bill would make it permanent and available to all federal agencies. The bill also requires the General Services Administration to create rules for how agencies decide when to use these lump-sum payments, how they figure out the payment amount, and how employees can challenge or appeal those decisions.
