Chemical Tax Repeal Act

This bill would get rid of a tax that is currently charged on certain chemicals and chemical substances that are made in or brought into the United States. Right now, the tax ranges from 44 cents to $9.74 per ton depending on the chemical, and it applies to 42 listed chemicals and 151 listed chemical substances through the end of 2031. The money collected from this tax currently goes into the Hazardous Substance Superfund, which pays for cleaning up polluted sites around the country.
