To require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to disinter the remains of Fernando V. Cota from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Texas, and for other purposes.

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to remove the remains of Fernando V. Cota from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Texas. Cota was buried there before rules were put in place that would have prevented his burial because of a rape conviction in 1975. The VA must notify his next of kin and give them the remains, or if no family member responds, the VA must handle the disposition of the remains on its own.
